You would be able to create your own workspace and share with other as and when required. Like iGoogle, you could pull the content into workspace with widget-like modules. There would also be a library of modules from where you could just drag and drop any functionality to the workspace. You could also change their position anywhere in the page with just a mouse click.
Are you a widget developer? here’s a great news for you! SAP is encouraging their developer and partners to design their own modules and add it to library. I relate it to Wordpress and its widgets quiet easily. Aren’t you? So guys, let’s get started!!
How would you, a developer, would be benefited?
Everyone knows wordpress plug-in and widget development is a huge market. On similar lines, Netweaver Portal’s Enterprise Workspace would open a new horizon and a bunch of opportunity. However, you need to get your dice rolling soon if you want one of those early birds.
How would it benefit organizations and administrators?
Succinctly, by saving huge amount of time. As an administrator, you would be spending lot of your time in assigning an iView or a page to user. Controlling permission by using a role based model. Now, everything would be placed in end user’s hand. User’s wont need any training to use this workspace. It would save time that your staff spends on handling content related requests.
Hey you can deploy enterprise workspace even on Netweaver Portal 7.0
Yes! This is a great news. Workspace would be available with Netweaver 7.0, Ehp1, SP 5. So you don’t have to worry and plan upgrade to 7.3 just for this.
