How to delete NWDI Track and DTR workspace

images How to delete NWDI Track and DTR workspaceMany a time it happens that as a NWDI administrator, you wish to delete the existing track or development track. Sometimes due to sensitivity of the NWDI & DTR data, you cannot have unwanted trackes in NWDI. NWDI does provides a Delete Track option in CMS, but one major concern is, how and from where to delete the workspace that it generates?

Like I did, If you are thinking that all we have to do is to, go to NWDI server OS level, navigate to the DTR and delete the workspace. Sadly, this approach is incorrect and won’t work. There is a DTR Command Line tool provided by SAP, which as a part of NWDI installation, is available under the directory <NWDI installation folder>\eclipse\tools\dtr. We have make use of this tool to delete the DTR workspace.

Before you start with this activity, make sure that developers have removed the configuration from NWDS. Otherwise it will create inconsistencies and may hamper the DTR state.

Launch the DTR.bat and key in the following command.

DELETEWORKSPACE <-w “workspacePath”> [-c "comments"]

DELETEWORKSPACEis the command that deletes the workspace. -w is used to specify the browse path of the workspace to be deleted. The –c option is used to give a comment explaining the reason for the operation.
