Science & Art of Effective Designs Course at HFI

Science and Art of Effective Design Science & Art of Effective Designs Course at HFIAfter UCA (User Centered Analysis) in March’10, I have finally registered for the next module which contributes to CUA (Certified Usability Analyst ) track in July’2010. Attending UCA module @ HFI Mumbai was a great and eye opening experience in itself. In 3 days, we learnt a lot about users, their mental model, usability testing, analysis and data gathering methods and then session was concluded at a note of introduction to science and art of effective design.

From July 22nd untill 24,  I am going to learn how to apply research-based and field-tested Web and application design principles and methodologies. The course basically spans through 4 major sections – Navigation, Presentation, Content, and Interaction. From these, “Content” is something I am damn excited about. Typical structure of  “Content” is -

  • Printed Vs Online Content
  • Writing For Clarity
  • Writing Style
  • Word Choice
  • Mechanics
  • Methods of scanning
  • Writers Pyramid
  • Heading, bulleted and numbered list

Isn’t this really exciting? Well, after this course,  I will be half way through to my becoming Certified Usability Analyst. CUA - Just the name is enough to bring goosebumps icon smile Science & Art of Effective Designs Course at HFI
